  FAQ about Incident Reporter

Incident Reporter, when used in conjunction with OAG's SMS Manual and supporting programs, has been found to meet the stringent SMS and QMS requirements of the Air Charter Safety Foundation's Industry Audit Standard.

Meet FAA's Proposed SMS Standards

When the Federal Aviation Administration mandates SMS, many Part 135 operators will be surprised to learn that while their SMS may meet ICAO and IS-BAO standards, it does not meet those proposed by FAA.

To fully understand these standards, refer to FAA's SMS Framework and SMS Assurance Guide. FAA has aligned their SMS Framework with the ICAO Framework of components and elements, and has further broken down the elements into processes. FAA also requires that Safety Attributes be incorporated into your SMS, which include identification of interfaces between processes, and controls to ensure satisfactory process outputs.

OAG Makes It Simple

Sound complicated? It can be, without the right tools. That's where Incident Reporter (IR) really shines. We've dissected the many ICAO and FAA requirements to produce an SMS database that makes your Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance processes easy.

IR Flexibility

Winner of the prestigious FedEx® "BZ" award for excellence, IR was designed from the ground up to be affordable, fast, easy-to-learn and flexible, so it can be tailored to your specific SMS risk and quality management needs.

Control the implementation of your SMS by initially restricting online reporting to safety-related hazards, incidents and near-accidents. As workloads permit, create additional categories and types of events to help you capture and manage environmental, security, and quality issues, including those pertaining to customer service.

Then as your safety culture improves, reward employees for reporting their errors and quality escapes. Email notifications and other controls built into IR ensure that effective corrective actions are developed, and cannot be overlooked. In this way your IR SMS database can grow with you, helping to ensure both safety and the quality of your products and services.

Continuous improvement means high levels of performance from your people, and the continued profitability and success of your company.
