Course Objective
To provide Vendor employees with condensed training in SMS concepts, objectives and benefits; to enable the vendor employee-student to apply time-critical ORM decision-making tools which facilitate better decision-making in the field; to enhance the student’s ability to identify hazards; to empower the student with the authority to take action when significant hazards are observed; to enable access to the company’s online Confidential Reporting System in order to report (anonymously if desired) hazards or irregularities that may compromise safety; to promote vendor employee participation in the company’s Accident Prevention Program.
Prerequisites
None. A password must be obtained from the Safety Officer for access to the course.
Course Structure
This course is comprised of three modules, each with one or more topics. After each module is a quiz with multiple-choice, true/false and other question formats. The course:
May be completed in more than one session;
May be taken as many times or as often as the student desires;
Produces a Certificate of Completion with test results.
Instructional Methods
Instruction is delivered via on-line computer program interaction which includes visual text, audio narration, images, diagrams, charts and other graphics.
Course Enrollment
Students first enroll in the course, and then log in to access the course. If the student is unable to complete the course in one session, the student may log out. The program records all module completions and every question answered. When returning to the course, the student may resume at the last point of progress.
Completion Standard
A student has completed the course when all three modules are checked off on the course contents page. Each individual module is finished after all pages within the module have been accessed and all questions have been correctly answered in the quiz associated with that module. There are approximately 25 questions in the course.
